Two deep dives made for 2 hours of delightful fun this episode. Laney gives the most fascinating and down right bizarre knowledge on Nandor Fodor a psychical researcher from the early 20th century who spent his life fascinated by science fiction, psychology, spiritualism and even Gef the talking mongoose - you absolutely need to hear this story! Then to bring in a dash of legend and skepticism KAT talks about the Winchester house, and more specifically Sarah Winchester herself. With details about her early life, and the history of the Winchester Repeating Arms company. We top off the episode with a Hippo Sized soda from Hippo Sized Beverages --- mmm it had the best huckleberry and elderberry pinch. Laney however made a perfect themed cocktail, what she calls a Phantasmgasm!!!

So we come back from a nice winter break and decided to warm it up with some cozy short stories, the sort of short stories that make you want to equip your melee and go on the offense. Laney reads from author David Cook, The Chasers; a story from a post apocalyptic lifetime 1000 years into the future. While KAT reads from Brander Buckners, The day time stood still; a lifetime in a moment for a man at the end of his rope, scientist and doggo. We fueled up with a Rat Bastard root beet and a Cast Iron Bitch from Begelow Brewing in Skowhegan, Me for this one.

Diving into the proverbial hamster remains of societies leftovers this week gave us our beloved top ten "why the hell?!" news stories. We are finding that the 24 hour news cycle is doing more than its fair share of letting some of these stories slip though the cracks, picked up as scraps from rat bastards such as us.

While fall comes with its beautiful foliage and inviting holidays it also comes with a few other gifts, the FLU and Midterms. So this week KAT and Laney take it easy after a couple weeks of intense homework and sickness to enjoy some lighthearted game play. Laney busts out her Conspiracy Theory board game and we play a couple rounds to challenge out who has the most know hows on the what ifs, definite-lies and "cmon nows."

This episode covers bite sized introductions and interesting factoids about a variety of Alien Species. Sprinkled in are some stories of eye witness accounts, legends passed down over generations and of course over all more than possible truths. Laney gives the full and undivided attention to this topic more so because we personally are obsessed ourselves, tune in and tune out!

This week KAT and Laney explore the possibility, nay, the reality that the truth so many of the biggest curiosities and theories derive from are right below our feet. The topic of the Dulce back is one that transcends decades of fraught foolishness and dips into the actuality of possibility. Over 900 miles of subterranean tunnels you say? 4.5 Miles of an obviously visible (possible) base many reported? Regardless, we cover the beginning, the middle child... and definite end of a possible (many part'er episode of) the Dulce base.

Ushering in the start of spooky season seems easy enough for a couple of trolls such as ourselves to do, considering we found that at quite an early age immersing our own identities within influences such as Edward Gorey and Joel Peter Witkin would form the folks you hear before you. This episode features two genuinely individual men, true and authentic to themselves and the mediums they have devoted to - while facing some of the most extreme criticism and losses along the way. Gorey's pen and ink illustrations have influenced a generation of gothic subculture and defined a genre of literary nonsense, while Witkin has faced a lifetime of personal anguish and loss in pursuit of sharing his photographs of what some would call the rejects of society as beautiful, and timeless works of art.

This week we frolic through the meadow of a cryptids and visit the lore of The Jersey Devil, The Honey Island Swamp Monster, The Boggy Creek Monster and the Lizard Man. Needless to say the Cricket Hill brew, Red Ale paired with an Avery's Swamp Juice soda felt like the most appropriate sips for the episode. Plus, we throw in a tinge of Benjamin Franklin.
