In this episode of the Hello Lovely Podcast, we talk about contentment and how it connects to your goals.
A lot of women want to feel content, but they worry that if they feel content now, it will slow them down. Like if they’re happy where they are, why try?
What actually happens is the opposite.
When you feel content, you are clearer on what you want and how you want to move forward.
Let’s look at the opposite of contentment — feeling stuck and in a hurry.
That hurry comes from two places:
Wanting to feel better quickly
Not wanting to lose steam and quit
Hurry can feel like motivation, but it keeps you stuck. It puts your focus on time instead of long-term results. It exhausts you and makes you feel like your success is tied to a timeline.
It can also make you feel like you can’t be content until you reach your goal.
But contentment isn’t something you earn at the end. It’s something you can choose now.
When you choose contentment, you don’t lose your drive. You actually gain more clarity and energy. You make better decisions, and you enjoy the process instead of rushing through it.
Contentment helps you stay consistent.
In this episode, I share an example from running a half marathon while being sick. Instead of focusing on speed, I focused on finishing one step at a time. That shift allowed me to keep going and enjoy the experience, even in the middle of it.
Contentment comes from what you think, not your circumstances.
You can choose to love where you are and still move toward where you want to go.
