County Controller Corey O'Connor says Allegheny County spent 45 and a half million dollars more than it took in during Fiscal Year 2024....nearly double the amount from the year before. O'Connor says the current situation is unsustainable....even after County Council approved a millage increase that went into effect this year.
Key factors include property tax revenues continuing to drop....and money generated by the drink tax and sales tax still haven't rebounded from the pandemic. O'Connor's report also says the Kane centers ran on a ten million dollar deficit
