  • We Black | When Do You Teach Your Child About Race?

Welcome back to your new favorite podcast, Controversy and Chaos! Our take might be a little controversial, and that's OK! How do you teach your children about being Black without taking away the innocence of simply being a kid?

In Episode 97, we get into a conversation many Black parents eventually have to navigate: when and how do we introduce our children to race? We talk about teaching our kids to love and celebrate their Blackness, preparing them for how the world may perceive them, and finding the balance between awareness and fear.

Before we get into this week’s chaos, we catch up on life, test whether we actually “speak girl,” discuss the internet debates we are officially tired of, and take a very necessary trip down Tyler Perry movie memory lane. 😂

It’s funny, thoughtful, and one of those conversations where there isn’t necessarily one “right” way to do it.

  • Release 'Em | Why Are Moms Tired Before the Day Starts?

Welcome back to your new favorite podcast, Controversy and Chaos! Our take might be a little controversial, and that's OK! Why are moms exhausted before they’ve even had the chance to drink their coffee? 😩 In Episode 96, we’re getting into the invisible mental load of motherhood, the constant planning, remembering, anticipating, organizing, and worrying that can make moms feel like they’re already working a full shift before the day has even begun.

Motherhood can be so mentally exhausting, even when it looks like you’re “doing nothing.” Because sometimes it’s not the physical workload that has you drained. It’s the fact that your brain never clocks out.

We explore the idea that many women simply want to feel desired, pursued, and intentionally chosen, while more men are beginning to see themselves as "the prize" and are looking to feel needed instead. • Are we doing this right? | Are you Healed or Just Coping?

Welcome back to your new favorite podcast, Controversy and Chaos! Our take might be a little controversial, and that's OK! How do you know if you've truly healed—or if you've just become really good at coping?

In Episode 94, we explore the subtle (and sometimes uncomfortable) difference between healing and simply learning how to survive. We talk about the habits we normalize, the emotional patterns we carry, and whether time alone is enough to heal old wounds.

We also pull back the curtain on the podcast itself and ask a question we've been debating: should Controversy & Chaos have more structured segments, or do you enjoy the free-flowing conversations that feel like you're sitting in the room with us?

  • All I Can Handle | Is Being an Ambitious Mom Selfish?

Can you be fully present as a mom and still chase your ambitions without guilt? In this episode, we unpack the tension that comes with wanting to be there for your children while also building, growing, and becoming more of yourself.

We get honest about the level of “selfishness” that can come with ambition, what it really means to show up as a present mom, and how to navigate the internal tug-of-war between purpose and responsibility. Is it selfish… or is it necessary?

Of course, we keep it light with our usual catch-up, from random questions and facial expressions getting us in trouble, to what we can (and can’t) do in heels before diving into a conversation that so many women are quietly navigating.

If you’ve ever felt torn between who you are and who you’re becoming, this one will hit home. 🤍

Welcome back to your new favorite podcast, Controversy and Chaos! Our take might be a little controversial, and that's OK! Growth is beautiful, but what happens when you start to feel like you’re becoming someone new? In this episode, we dive into the art of reinvention, how to elevate, evolve, and step into new versions of yourself without losing your core identity.

We talk about what it means to stay grounded in who you are while embracing change, the fear that can come with growth, and how to navigate becoming more of yourself instead of someone completely different.

Of course, we keep it light with our usual catch-up, from beauty chats and snack obsessions to a fun (and very real) random question before getting into a conversation that anyone in a season of growth will relate to.

Then we dive into the season: the connections, the red flags, and whether love was actually… blind this time around. And of course, we couldn’t leave without a little side-eye conversation about Netflix and the bigger picture.

Welcome back to your new favorite podcast, Controversy and Chaos! Our take might be a little controversial, and that's OK! In this episode, we’re asking a hard question: Is it ever appropriate for someone to tell you to let your dream die?

We unpack what it feels like to hear doubt from others while navigating entrepreneurship, especially during the “dry season” when things feel slow, unclear, or stagnant. Is it quitting… or is it pivoting? And how do you know the difference?

As always, it’s equal parts reflection, cultural commentary, and real-life catch-up. If you’re building something, questioning something, or evolving through something, this one’s for you.
