In John 12 we witness Jesus making a series of life-altering choices. As Jesus prepares for the cross, he must choose faithful obedience over fear, uncertainty, and self-reliance.

Like Jesus, the choices we make shape our legacy and impact eternity. Everyday, we are faced with the same decision as Jesus, whether to glorify God, or promote ourselves. Will we choose what is good, righteous, and God-glorifying? Will we make decisions based on their impact on eternity, or the fleeting pleasures of the present moment? Will we like Jesus choose self-sacrifice, in order that others might know the salvation only Jesus can provide?

We explored how people often come to Jesus for many reasons—seeking comfort, solutions, or blessings. Judas sought profit, the religious leaders pursued prestige, and the crowds craved power. Yet, only one reason leads to eternal life: recognizing Jesus as the ultimate prize and surrendering everything to Him.

Mary demonstrated this vividly in offering her most valuable possession in worship, understanding that Jesus is life itself. This message is convicting reminder that Jesus isn’t just a means to our goals; He is the goal, worthy of all we have and all we are.

Finally, we recognized that Jesus' resurrection power demands a response—will we choose to believe and follow Him?

Where we place our hope matters. Like a house built on shifting sands, If we place our hope on what is unstable, we are headed for collapse. The scriptures are clear, only one thing, one person, can bring us hope and keep us from collapse. Jesus!
