  • Episode 30 - Reflecting On The Book of Acts

IN THIS EPISODE: After spending almost a full year going through the book of Acts, Dave and Seth dedicate this podcast to sharing reflections, both from different folks at the Table community and themselves, of what they gained insight on, felt God speaking to them about, or just learned for the first time. Looking at how the Church first started and what they did to continue the Kingdom of God can teach us so much about the Church we need to be today.

The Table is a community committed to loving God and loving others. We love God by seeking Truth through prayer, worship, and studying His Word to help us return to everything He created us to be. We love others by having an irrational commitment to the well being of each other and living out a radical hospitality to the community we are in. We follow the example of Jesus Christ to help develop disciples according to the natural talents and abilities given to each of us.

  • Episode 29: The Law And Being Pro-Active

IN THIS EPISODE: Seth takes the teaching mic over on this episode and tackles Matthew 5 - the begging of the Sermon On The Mount. We look at how Jesus took the Law that the Jewish people were following so closely to win God's favor again and showed how He was going to fulfill it, but in ways they never saw coming. When you do the background work on the original intent of the Law, the culture, and Jesus' responses, you find truths that are consistent with the unchanging characteristics of God. He is always doing something new...will we be ready when it looks different than we thought it would?

IN THIS EPISODE: Seth takes over teaching this week as we continue our journey through Acts. With only one more week of the book of Acts, we come to Paul's prisoner journey to Rome. So many crazy things happened along the way, Paul had to ask at least once, "God, are you really in control?". We've all asked the question...but are we asking the RIGHT questions? What we find on the other side could be worth seeking it out.

Through trials in which he was defending his own life, Paul remains unwavering that the centrality of his faith in Jesus lies in the Resurrection. How can we better understand the importance of the Resurrection and the power it holds to raise us from our death?

Let's learn what motivated this group of people and follow their lead to the systems and empire that influence todays society.
