In this episode of Conversations for Change I speak with Colin Burridge, medium, energy healer and dear friend.

Together we explore his journey from first discovering his gifts through his own awakening experiences. Next, we dive into the work and training he's taken on to refine his skills and to become a powerful force for healing in the world. What it means to be a medium, how mediumship can help people find closure with loved ones who have passed on, and what it means to be of service for the highest and best for all.

A conversation with Michael Ashby, a dear friend, spiritual explorer and channel who has a deep and profound relationship with trees.

Michael shares his journey of learning to communicate with the trees, and where it has taken him from there.

We explore channeling, what it is for each of us, and how it unfolds, and the messages the trees have brought to Michael about their own path.

We then explore Michael's experiences with NAMAS YOUNIVERSITY and his expanding relationship with the Sanat Kumara, or Chief Spiritual Operations Officer of earth, including the teachings of MY regarding the origins of earth, its original intended role as the spiritual university of this galaxy, the great darkness, and the path now unfolding before us.

As Michael explains, the single dominant message of these teachings that we each must follow the guidance of our own inner higher self and soul. We may listen to great teachings, but ultimately, it is our own inner guidance which must lead us.

Last but not least we touch on the whole concept of channeling, and that all channeling is coming through a conscious being who acts as a filter for that information, so the quality of the information is very much impacted by the level of healing and inner work that person has done. All of which leads us to the powerful need for real discernment.

What does it mean to do the inner work? In a culture demonstrating the psychosis of the Immature Masculine and Feminine as its Standard Operating Procedure, how do we find our way and build a new world?

The shifting energies of our times are helping us, and we are learning to heed the inner language and signs of our bodies. People are speaking of dysregulated nervous systems, and needing time to center and go to peace and calm - this is all great evidence of our transformation.

Our work now is having the courage to follow our inner guidance not only as a way to deal with the outer chaos but as a way to become capable of restoring wholeness, compassion and sanity to a world gone mad.

I've spent a lifetime pondering this idea of the inner vs the outer in our experience.

It's taken me the better part of this lifetime to learn and truly understand the power of our inner perspective and focus and how it shapes and creates in the world, particularly in our own world.

In a world where we are taught and told over and over that we must fight the bad and take on the challenges and struggles of our society and culture in order to bring change, it is a lonely place to stand in the knowing that no amount of pushing against will bring the good we are seeking.

This podcast explores the importance and power of an open mind, how we cultivate it and find it and how we use our own true inner compass to lean in to and create the outcomes and world we are longing to inhabit - a world of true peace, true compassion and supportive of all life.

What it really is, and why it happens

What is this thing called awakening and how do we find ourselves on the journey?

In some mysterious way, it is the larger gestalt of All That Is - now experienced and expressed through the individual consciousness of the self.

Why it is, and must be, an inner journey, as it does its work to bring us into contact with the authentic inner voice of ourself.

Ultimately, I think it's the calling from within of our true selves, calling us back to our rightful place in our own lives.

Showing up in turmoil, sudden changes in relationships, upheavals and losses we often cannot understand, it is that part of ourselves which directs us onward to what is truly calling us home.

Home, not to some outer defined destination, but home to that small voice within us that knows who we really are, and why we are here.

Developing the higher path of inner discernment is not a quick fix solution to 'get free'. It is a long term commitment to working to stay coherent within real life situations. It is the practice of developing the stance of the 'inner observer' to such a degree that we learn what it means to be capable of choosing our own highest and best outcomes and the highest and best outcomes for those around us. It requires that we allow those around us the same freedom to choose which we give to ourselves. Why? Because absolute freedom is not a personal battle cry, it is a way of being in the world that recognizes the sovereignty of every other person we interact with.

It is the pre-requisite to actually 'live from the inside out'.

What it means to build our own sovereign internal framework of perspective.

This is the inner work that takes us from externally driven to internal discernment. It is how we find our way to building a coherent, healthy, self supporting inner compass that leads ultimately to our own Inner Observer and the freedom and responsibility we seek to stand as a sovereign being in a co-creative world.

What it means to step into the space of love wholeheartedly for yourself and others.

Letting go of self judgment and past trauma to truly be of service.

Why healing is the work we are here to do not based on an idea of some agenda we have, but based on surrendering to the process of our own inner healing which transforms us and what we can offer others.

The ideas in this podcast originally crystalized during my first year of channeling and center around answering the questions "Who am I?", "Why am I here?" and "What is my purpose?". For me, trying to answer those questions leads to the path of self-realization.

Exploring the very real question of whether objective reality exists or not, and the implications of that question.

This is really a question about consciousness and the nature of consciousness.

It revolves around the idea that in order to observe reality, and to have a perspective on it, there must therefore be a subjective participant engaged in the process of observation. That is to say it is not possible to contemplate reality without acknowledging the consciousness that is considering the idea. In a funny way, it’s like the question of the chicken or the egg in a different perspective.

I was thrilled and excited, shortly after recording this podcast, to discover the film “Aware” which is an exploration into this precise idea of the nature of consciousness, and therefore the nature of reality itself. This beautiful film so inspired me that I may have to do a subsequent podcast on the topic. Perhaps from the perspective of what it means to be the living consciousness within the reality one is perceiving, and the power we have within that perspective to shape and create the world we are longing to inhabit.
