  • A Black Father's Love: Special Father's Day Celebration Episode 2
Welcome everyone to UBUNTUSPEAKS Special Father’s Day Celebration! Today, we are going to be celebrating the life, love, and lessons from four beautiful, inspiring, and committed fathers that I have had the wonderful opportunity to know and love! Not only do these fathers inspire me everyday but are shattering the myths that exist within our society about the presence, identity and roles of black fathers. These men are showing the world that fatherhood is not only the most important job a man chooses to have in his life, but also their presence and impact is common and key to the successful Black families and communities we have today!
    Guest Fathers:
    1. Andre Cross (Atlanta, Georgia)
    2. Jamal Tyree (Atlanta, Georgia)
    3. Mike Funk (New York, NY)

  • A Black Father's Love: Special Father's Day Celebration! PART 1
Welcome everyone to UBUNTUSPEAKS Special Father’s Day Celebration Two Part Series! This Father's Day, UBUNTUSPEAKS would like to gift the world with the voices of Black Fathers!  Today, we are going to be celebrating the life, love, and lessons from Mr. Matt Prestbury, a beautiful, inspiring, and committed father of four.  He is the founder of The Black Fathers Foundation.  His foundation not only is inspiring other fathers everyday but beautifully debunking the myths and perceptions that too many have regarding Black fathers in our society.
Matt and so many men like him are showing the world that fatherhood is not only the most important job a man can have in his life, but more importantly it is a responsibility that many Black Men do so proudly and successfully.  The Black family led by Black Men are in abundance and will continue to be strong!

  • The Silence in a World Full of Thunder: Pushing Thru the Pain

Today, we will be discussing the importance  of resilience in times of trouble and crisis with Author, RN, Speaker and HIV/AIDS Advocate, Rachel Karrington.  In the 1980’s at the height of the HIV/AIDS Epidemic in the United States, Rachel’s world was rocked at the young age of 21 when she learned of her husband's HIV positive diagnosis. Not knowing what would become of herself and 2 children, she quickly realized she only had 2 options: either let life disappointments and circumstances determine the direction of her life or persevere and push through pain, confusion, and stigma and discrimination that came with her husband’s HIV diagnosis.   She chose the latter.

  • Epi2: Voices of Regret
Quieting the voices of regret and conversations we have with ourselves often in the dark is not at all easy. We may need to first define the feeling of "Regret" in our lives and adopt the art of forgiveness towards self and others as a strategy to letting go and moving forward with our lives.
