Turn to God w/ Carin - Mercy

In “Turn to God with Carin,” Carin Jayne Casey encourages us to show mercy to those who are hurting and in need, under the great commission, “go ye therefore…” Jesus shared the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10), instructing, show mercy to your neighbors. People having the Spiritual Gift of Mercy are sensitive toward those suffering, and they want to help.

Casey shared her why, as a domestic violence advocate. She and others from local churches participate in a yearly mission by going to New York City to administer to the homeless and sheltered women through the New York School of Urban Ministry (NYSUM). There, they are vessels to demonstrate God’s love and compassion. This is an example of many areas of mission work all around us, for folks to participate in.

Mantra: Do not withhold good from those in need, when the power/ability is in your hand to help (based on Prov. 3:27).

In John 19:25-27 we see Jesus stops dying on the cross to care for His mother Mary. The only male disciple left at the foot of the cross is John and Jesus charges him to take care of his mother. We see how important family is to God at this moment. Amen.
