What makes you say “hellyeah” at the end of the day?  For any question I am asked or I ask myself, if I cannot 100% say hell yeah as my answer then it is a hell no. Today’s conversation is with Abbie Scott, a registered dietitian who has a passion for her family, yoga and working with eating disorders.

Abbie is one of the most passionate dietitians I have ever met. We met while working for the same company a few years ago and I was also so impressed with her desire to be a lifelong learner. She has had a few different jobs as a dietitian and embraced them all as stepping stones. She is currently working for the Emily Program in Minnesota which specializes in the treatment of eating disorders. This is the field of dietetics she has a personal connection to and is extremely passionate about.  Abbie shares some great insight into this ever-evolving field and how she balances her personal life with her career.

Steph has over 190 interviews in her series and highlights all the amazing journeys of fellow dietitians. Awhile ago when I was doing research on the where registered dietitians get their information about our profession, of course I started with an internet search and Kim Rose was a key part of the results. Kim has a standout presence on YouTube by hosting her own channel filled with informative and educational videos for all things registered dietitian. Her passion for the profession and her creativity radiates in her videos as well as her online presence. She is a massive influencer for registered dietitians by providing answers to many common questions new and seasoned dietitians may have. She also shares more about her clinical role at the acute care facility she works at and how this also influences her video content.

Conversation 127:  The Story, Journey and Passion - so far - of Deanne Lynch, RD2Be

“I knew when I went to culinary school, it wasn’t the end-all for me. I didn’t want to be a chef at a restaurant working until midnight or on the line. I loved food so much and I wanted to learn as much as I could about it.”  Deanne, RD2Be

Today’s conversation is with Deanne Lynch, a RD2Be who chose dietetics as her 3rd career will be starting her dietetic internship in a couple weeks.

Deanne and I connected after the Michigan Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Spring Conference by  sending me a lovely email about her passion for dietetics and I knew I wanted to learn more about her journey. Not only is this a 3rd career for Deanne, she is also a spouse and a mother to 2 children. Deanne was a member of the Marine Corps, went to culinary school and along the way discovered her passion for dietetics. She will be starting her internship with Iowa State University in a couple of weeks and I am very happy she shared her journey with me so far.
