BIO: Seyed Nourashrafeddin was born in1974 in a large family in the northern region of Iran. His childhood unfoldedduring the turbulent years of the Islamic Revolution and the Iran-Iraq War.Raised by a resilient and illiterate mother and a father who battled heroinaddiction and incarceration. He started working to help the family economy whenhe was a child. He completed his primary and secondary school at his home city,Motel Qu, and worked most of his childhood. He was not a good student in schooland had no interest in studying. So, he failed most classes and was rejected inthe first grade of middle school. One day, as a poor student, he received asmall New Year’s gift from the school, and this was a trigger for him to studyand follow the advice of his grandfather who used to say that he should becomea scientist! Despite all hardships and struggling with vitiligo, he finishedhis schooling and earned degrees from prestigious Iranian universities. In2012, he immigrated to the United States as a health sciences scholar. Heobtained a PhD in Molecular Medicine and introduced cutting-edge genomictechniques like whole exome sequencing to Iran. Today, he is a well-knownscientist with numerous articles on cancer and reproductive health. BIO: Early in my radio career, one question kept nagging atme: Why do some radio advertising campaigns works while others fall flat?

I watched businesses invest in ads that seemed perfectlylogical, yet nothing happened. No response. No lift. No results.

Everything changed when I was hired as General Manager ofTelemedia Network Radio, then Canada’s largest radio syndication company. Weheld the broadcast rights for the Toronto Blue Jays, the Maple Leafs, anddozens of music and entertainment programs. Working with major agencies andworld-class brands, I noticed something powerful: the most effective campaignsdidn’t win by out-reasoning the competition. They made you feel somethingbefore you ever had time to think about it.

I became determined to understand why. I immersed myself inEvolutionary Psychology, Behavioural Economics & Neuroscience, then turnedwhat I learned into a simple metaphorical framework that non-marketers couldactually grasp. I called it The Divided Brain.

That insight led to a bold decision. If I could bring thisthinking back to local radio, I knew I’d have a unique advantage. So I left mydream job, struck out on my own, and bought my first radio station to test thetheory. The results exceeded anything I had imagined. Our company grew quickly,and our advertisers saw exceptional results.

Larche Communications eventually grew to five radio stationsand a branding agency, earning more than 25 industry awards before successfulexits. The science worked.

Now I’m sharing that advantage. The Divided Brain givesothers the same edge, and through speaking, I help teams put it into practice.

Meet GLEN OLSON; “Moderncommunication, Zoom, lighting, thunder, and online authors’ groups alwaysfascinate me, as does meeting Glen nearly a year ago in Bold Authors Network,founded by best-selling author, Kae Wagner. There we were, Glen and I. Littleboxes on a Zoom screen separated us.       Onceor sometimes twice a week. The boxes kept moving, changing our view. Never hada conversation. But admiration for his author’s journey and Southern Californialife. Then universal alignment. We chatted on Zoom two weeks ago to getacquainted. I was in awe at Glen’s journey. Several times from the heart, Isaid there is a movie to be made about his life. He’s wonderfully eloquent,charming, brilliant, worldly, and knowledgeable beyond. Of course, thisinterview was born. Some elements and words now. As a kid, a friend had amimeograph machine (see Animal House). Glen begins writing a newspaper. Marinebiology. Meat cutter. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedic, captain, disasterpreparedness. Manuals for FEMA. Motorcycling the country in 1976. Scuba diving.A brave new world. Glen discussed the Implicate Order (David Bohm). Look it up.Now he’s writing futuristic novels. Loved the cover of ‘Tears of a ThousandYears.’ He loves Groundhog Day. Me too. Be curious. Not judgmental. He stressedthe importance of always having a ½ tank of gas. “Life is uncertain. Eatdessert first.” I loved that quote from Glen. He’s coming back here for the‘Desperate Endeavor’ release. As good as it gets.” Calvin

From FireCaptain to Fantasy Author; GLEN OLSON & Tears of a Thousand Years; LIVEfrom So. Calif.

BIO: GLENOLSON grew up in the San Fernando Valley, a suburb of Los Angeles. He wouldhave had an absolutely normal childhood except for one fact: it was thenineteen sixties, and his best friend’s father worked in cold war aerospace . .. and the friend's father owned a mimeograph machine. So along with a dog,bicycle, and baseball mitt, Glen and friends had access to a device thatallowed them to put out a neighborhood newspaper— and they shamelessly did so!

Thisencouraged his lifelong love of writing. In his next career, Glen became aparamedic for a fire department. As part of his medical background, he tooktraining as a lay midwife. In the fire dept he had several roles, includingdisaster preparedness educator, inspector, and captain, writing trainingmanuals by day and fiction by night.

Glen is atrained scuba diver and has toured the continent on a motorcycle. Today he is afulltime writer and all of his experiences tend to wind up on the pages of hisnovels. He is the author of three books and working on a fourth (and fifth).

Notmuch money needed to keep this going. It’s heartbreaking that things have comedown to this. I’ve been caring since April 22, 1970. Kerry is ExecutiveDirector of the NJ School of Conservation. She’s been with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for 34years. A consummate champion of our planet and state.

Kerry Kirk Pflugh is the Executive Director for the NewJersey School of Conservation.  She isresponsible for overseeing the operations, management and implementation of theeducational programs, services and activities at the NJSOC as set forth in themission statement, and strategic plan under the auspices of the Board ofTrustees and as directed by P.L. 2022, c. 116,which originated from Senate Bill S438.

The NJSOC has beenproviding students and teachers with environmental education experiences andtraining for more than 75 years. The NJSOC is internationally recognized as aleader in providing educational programs in the four curriculum areas usingunique methods of experiential learning and learning through discovery. 

Ms. Pflugh wasresponsible for spearheading the successful effort to save and reopen thehistoric environmental education field center and is now working to restore theformer CCC campus. Working with the environmental and educational community andchampions in the state legislature, Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation in2022 assigning the Friends of NJSOC legal responsibility for the management ofthe historic environmental education center. In 2023, the Friends signed a20-year lease to operate
