The building block to every relationship, whether with an individual or organization, is communication. Communication is the hinge that all relationships hang on. It determines our levels of access, protection, provision, and even pain. Unfortunately, we often forget that at all times we are sending a message.

Communication is not just about the verbals, the things we release out of our mouths, it also includes the nonverbal communication that we use. Since everything turns according to our communication, we must learn to master the message we send to others. We must learn to build, and not tear down… to affirm and not discredit. Heaven and earth will reward us according to what we say, so we must learn to master our communication if we are going to have healthy relationships.

Some definitions of a relationship include the way in which two or more people or things are connected, an emotional attachment between individuals, and the state of being related or interrelated. All relationships require some sort of connection and survive and thrive based on the communication we feed it.

In this season, God is allowing all of our relationships to be tested. The enemy is doing his job to ruin and sabotage Godly relationships, yet to make us hold on to unhealthy and damaging relationships. Healthy and productive or toxic and destructive, we all relate in one way or another. Every experience changes us… moves us closer or farther away from our destiny. Healthy relationships require vulnerability and transparency; without them, we are involved with a false personality that will inevitably disappoint or damage us. We must get healthier so that we can have better relationships and partnerships.

From the beginning of creation, God established that He was more than a Judge or King, He was identified as a Father and Creator. It doesn’t diminish the other roles that He’s identified as, but it indicates the priority and emphasis He places on those roles.

In your lifetime you’re probably going to be asked this a few thousand times. Or at least it seems like you are. The problem is, when a question becomes so common it tends to carry less meaning. We answer, “Fine” without thinking, an automatic response much like saying “Hello.”

But are you fine? Really?

Understanding and accepting who you are, your authentic self, is vital to being satisfied and successful in life. Mark 6:30-31 (KJV) records an interesting conversation. “And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.”

Jesus, after hearing the good news about the success they were having advancing the Kingdom, had to instruct them to pause! He had to plainly tell them that they needed to sit down and rest… to take a moment for leisure and to eat. If Jesus had to remind the early apostle, surely He is still reminding us of this truth today. Let’s make sure that we know who we are so that we don’t wear ourselves out in an attempt to inquire from others or to persuade others to confirm who we think we are. We can serve, and still be selfless. We can do self-care and not become self-centered. We just need to be reminded that YOU AND I are more than enough – and we can rest in that truth.

Understanding and accepting who you are, your authentic self, is vital to being satisfied and successful in life. According to Genesis 1:26-27, you are made in the image and after the likeness of God. You are royalty, the offspring of a King. You have the same capacity and creativity as your Father, it’s in your DNA. Adam repeated the process, and you will produce greatness too! You must know who you are, before you try to do it. This episode will explore the importance of knowing who you are and being assured of who you are before attempting to do what you believe you should do. 

Will the real you please stand up? You are an absolutely amazing human created by God. In an attempt to be relevant and successful, it is possible to lose yourself while trying to gain everything else.
