Happy Monday family!!!
Welcome back to Conversations with Friends, Episode 2!
This weeks friend is a fellow Piscean soul, writer and a part of my Portland family, Jenny Forrester.
Jenny is the creator and host of Unchaste Readers, a LIVE poetry show that began in Portland and is preparing to spread its wings and move to Colorado. Jenny has inspired, encouraged and presented numerous writers in the Portland area, giving a voice to the voiceless, the disempowered and to the quiet tones of our hearts. I was a guest reader in her show and feel blessed to have one of my most significant poems in the second volume of Unchaste Readers Anthology. She is commited to the community she is a part of and we are all grateful for her work.
Jenny is an amazing writer and published author herself too! In May of 2017, along with the support of Hawthorne Books of Portland OR, Jenny released her 1st major title, Narrow River, Wide Sky: A Memoir. She writes of her life growing up in rural Colorado and of her family, especially her Mother. This book was so well recieved in Portland, it won the Multnomah County Library Best Book of 2017 and is now available wherever books are sold!!!
I met this beautiful friend on a cold and snowy night in Portland, behind a microphone, feeling nervous and out of place. Her warmth and tender soul instantly made me feel right at home.
Listen in on one of our conversations. Peace family XO
