In this episode, we’re excited to welcome Angela Kral, a passionate educator with nearly 20 years of experience in various teaching roles, including math coach and assistant principal. Her background is deeply rooted in education—her father was the principal of Plant High School in Tampa, FL.
But it’s her recent venture, founding South Tampa Microschool (STM), that we’re focusing on in this episode of Conversations with GIPR, as well as the challenges she’s faced in her new role as a tenant of a fairly large space in Tampa.
Angela’s journey began during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic when she saw her daughter struggling with virtual learning and worksheets. In response, Angela created hands-on, engaging methods that helped her daughter not only catch up but also develop a genuine love for learning. Inspired by this success, Angela launched a small learning pod in 2020, which quickly evolved into South Tampa Microschool by 2021. By 2024, STM expanded to offer classes from PreK through middle school under a program called Peninsular Prep @ STM.
Today, STM continues to grow and provide a unique educational experience that fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking—along with a lifelong love of learning, something we deeply value here at GIPR.
Tune in to hear more about Angela’s journey and her vision for transforming education!
