The NAACP has proposed that black student athletes use the portal and other transfer methods to leave red state public universities who are gerrymandering to prevent black people from voting. This is a response to the Supreme Court decision to gut the Voting Rights Act.

Black people have constantly faced setbacks due to the persistent onslaught of Civil Rights by White Supremacists. Now the Supreme Court has a majority of Justices who have gutted the 1965 Voting Rights Act, deepening the anger and rage of Black people.
