DAVE WILLIAMS and AMY CHODROFF were selected individually to co-host the KLIF Morning News in Dallas. Having never met they were thrown together in a small studio to sink or swim. In radio, as in life, forced partnerships don't always work. In this case, it worked wonderfully well for nearly 12 years. They started together and in 2023 retired together. But they're still friends. Here they are, together again. Sequels may follow.
DAVE GROSBY is a true Sports Talk Radio legend but more importantly to me, he's been my special friend for more than 40 years. We covered our personal history and shenanigans in our first episode of June 2022. This time we're just talking sports and radio. He is the Master.
DOUG MCINTYRE loves America and he's worried sick about its future. Beloved for his unique ability to combine common sense with passion, he has a writer's insights and an orator's ability to charm audiences with his self-effacing wit and inspired intellect. Since his retirement from KABC and WABC Doug's legion of radio fans still follow his weekly newspaper column and now are getting their Doug fix with his occasional appearances on KFI and with his first novel, Frank's Shadow, which has been universally hailed by reviewers. This conversation starts with the book and ends with a vision of America that should have us all staying awake at night.

MARK DAVIS is a man many political liberals don't believe exists: a sincerely compassionate conservative. The dean of Texas radio talk, Mark makes a rational appeal on local and national issues mornings on 660AM The Answer in Dallas, and can be found on Twitter, and in columns in the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram and nationally in McClatchy newspapers, Newsweek, Townhall.
KITTY O'NEAL is a Sacramento icon, probably the best-known name, face, and voice among celebrities in the history of California's capital city. She is certainly the best-loved. Here, she tells her story, and talks about her former radio colleagues Morton Downey Jr. and Rush Limbaugh. And yes, me, too. It's a grand reunion for us. We also talk about Skyler's Pool, the rock band Kitty created with her husband, famed restaurateur Kurt Spataro. And when the talking is done, we give you a music video of Kitty fronting the band with their original music, her dynamic voice, and wonderful scenes of River City.
TOM LANGMYER is widely recognized as one of the most successful and influential people in radio. Everybody who meets him loves the guy for his enthusiasm and passion for life and for his sincere interest in the people he meets everywhere. As CEO and President of Great Lakes Media, his mantra is, "Radio is fundamentally a local business." You might say he's taking radio back to the future. This conversation is a master class in the business of broadcasting and life.
BENJAMIN NEUMAN is one of the world's top virus research scientists and a leading authority on Coronaviruses. During the COVID pandemic, Dr. Neuman oversaw the Texas A&M University Global Health Research Complex which identified a variant of the virus whose full significance was unknown at the time. He knows as much about the history of COVID-19 and its continuing development as anyone on Earth.
TYLER COX is a proven radio news and programming master but to the people who worked alongside him, he may be best remembered for his signature style of management: walking around with a cup of coffee and striking up conversations. Tyler is a people person. That's how he helped launch RUSH LIMBAUGH from Sacramento to national radio stardom and how he gave Dallas radio legends Hal Jay and Mark Davis the room and encouragement to grow beyond their dreams.
DAVE WILLIAMS and BOB NATHAN became Sacramento radio partners in July of 1981. They soon had the highest ratings in Sacramento history, a record that still stands. When they changed stations to KFBK in 1985 their enormous audience, which they called The Dave & Bob Mob, moved with them. Great morning radio teams everywhere are long remembered by their fans. In Northern California that's Dave & Bob.
Shout out to Rush Limbaugh fans: in this episode, we talk about our friendships with Rush, how we saved him from drowning and got hate mail for it, and an eerie dream that turned out to be a serious premonition.
