Titles can be very helpful in indicating the abilities, responsibilities and position a person may have, and some titles will identify character qualities and / or goals of the individual. You want to see a Doctor when you have a medical issue. You want to see the Manager when the Clerk cannot solve your question. You will want to be cautious around someone who is a Convict. An Olympic Athlete you something about that person's goals. Many titles and terms are used to describe an individual's relationship to others, heritage, positions, responsibilities, affiliations, hobbies, interests, and passions. The Bible uses several descriptive terms for those who do not have Jesus Christ as their Savior including "unbeliever," "ungodly," "sinner" and "slaves of sin." In contrast, those who do have Jesus as their Savior are called "believers," "disciples," "Christians," "the godly," "the righteous." However, the term and description that may be most important for Christians to remember in walking properly with Jesus is that we are His "servant" or "slave." As His disciple we ask, "What would Jesus do?" so that we can emulate Him. As His friend we ask, "What would Jesus like?" so that we can please Him. As His slave we ask, "What does Jesus command?" so that we might obey Him. And those who love Jesus will strive to obey Him (John 14:15)

1. That the things insisted on are in some degree and measure necessary unto all acceptable prayer. The Scripture assigns them thereunto, and believers find them so by their own experience. For we discourse not about prayer as it is the working of nature in its straits and difficulties towards the God of nature, expressing thereby its dependence on him, with an acknowledgment of his power, in which sense all flesh, in one way or other, under one notion or other, come to God; nor yet upon those cries which legal convictions will wrest from them that fall under their power: but we treat only of prayer as it is required of believers under the gospel, as they have an "access through Christ by one Spirit unto the Father." And, 2. That those in whom this work is wrought by the Holy Spirit in any degree do not, in ordinary cases, want an ability to express themselves in this duty, so far as is needful for them.
