Wake Up Sydney — Thursday 9 July 2026
Start your winter Thursday with the latest Sydney weather, traffic and train updates. Today’s forecast is cool and showery across the city, with the Sydney CBD sitting around 11°C and heading for a top of 18°C. Parramatta can expect a shower or two with a top of 17°C, while Bondi is also set for showers and a high of 17°C. Keep a jacket close and don’t forget the umbrella.
On the roads, Sydney traffic is looking mostly clear this morning, with just one key issue in North Parramatta. A car has broken down on James Ruse Drive southbound approaching Pennant Hills Road. The vehicle is in the median, but drivers are urged to slow down and take extra care through the area.
For public transport commuters, it’s good news once again. Sydney Trains and Metro are operating normally across all lines, with no incidents reported. That makes it the fourth smooth morning in a row for the network.
Johnny also highlights what’s happening around town, including the Christmas in July Festival kicking off at The Rocks tomorrow, and the ongoing Bondi Festival at the Pavilion and foreshore.
Tune in to Wake Up Sydney for your essential morning briefing on weather, traffic, trains and what’s on across Sydney.
