Good
Read all the multi-packs and shorts packs long ago, since 2012. The author has gotten better with age/practice. I've read all of the Cooper stories (1 - 230) and several of Mr. Bernico's short stories and most have not disappointed me. You'll find some poorly written or predictable stories, but for the most part they are fair to good.
The Cooper series are better, but there's a few stinkers, too. They're great for a coffee break or a few minutes to relax.
Kidnapping and murder
Unfortunately, this story begins with Clay and Elliott Cooper standing over Matt's grave. They'd come to pay their respects to 3 family members.
The story develops as Elliott (now running the business) receives a phone call from a man claiming he urgently needed help. However, the man never arrived at the office to explain his situation.
Later, Elliott takes Clay to dinner, and as the waitress leans over Elliott to replace the napkin he had dropped on the floor, she is shot in the side as a bullet pierces the window. Clay informs Elliott he is definitely going to help investigate!
This is a story of murder and kidnapping. Someone has a secret he doesn't want others to discover. Shots are taken at both Elliott and Clay. We have already bidden farewell to Matt. Are we going to lose his son or grandson as well?
Another good story for Cooper fans, this is a quick read that is well worth your time. Lots of action so get ready to join Cooper Investigations and Lieutenant Hollister as they track down the man with the agenda. You will not be disappointed.
