An article from Police1, dated August 26th, titled 'Washington PD officers no longer allowed to personalize equipment after OIS settlement.' How did this lawsuit come about? 4 officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a Starbucks. The man was known to be mentally ill and known to officers, who's name was Timothy Green. He was acting radical toward the officers, which led 2 officers to Tase him, but failed to incapacitate him. So another officer shot him 3 times, incapacitated him, and began life-saving measures. The whole lawsuit came about because in the police videos it was evident that they displayed Blue Lives Matter emblems and a sticker reminiscent of the "Don't Tread On Me" flag.
