What number do you dial for access to emergency services? 911, right? An Indianapolis Police Chief's plan includes a significant focus on streamlining access to assistance through the introduction of the 988 helpline instead of calling 911. Tim discusses several issues he has with the implementation of this new number. One main issue is that of causing confusion. If someone who is suffering a mental health crisis dials 911 for assistance, are the dispatchers going to ask them to hang up and dial 988? We wouldn't think so, but this is a major concern. In March of this year, Shelly Bradbury of the Denver Post, wrote an article about a jury awarding a woman $3.76M after her home was searched by a SWAT team and caused damage. This all comes down to a man who had his iPhone stolen and the Find My iPhone app pinged the phone being at the intersection in which this woman lived. Based off this information the police went to her house to issue a search warrant for the iPhone, plus a suspected stolen truck. Her home did not contain any of those items. She was innocent.

How do these people get elected? This is what Pat Droney asks (Law Enforcement Today; Opinion). This is a disgusting story about a Kentucky state senator touting the use of child sex dolls for "minor-attracted persons". She later retracted her initial approval citing that she was confused on the studies done on their use. Confused? Disgusting for sure.

The Law Enforcement Safety Officers Act (LEOSA), first passed federally in 2004, allows "qualified Law Enforcement officers" and "qualified retired or seperated Law Enforcement officer (QRLEO) to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction in the U.S. or United States Territories, regardless of state or local laws with a few exceptions on state and private property.
