Quién le iba a decir a Joaquín Sabina que sus comienzos como cantautor, junto a Javier Krahe, harían historia como la han hecho, en el Café La Mandrágora? Apenas una grabación en vivo de la CBS da cuenta de cuánto traían consigo, noche tras noche de actuación acústica e iconoclasta. Pero la España de los primeros ochenta pedía a gritos una salida estética para los progres y aquel barco, capitaneado por el carisma de Krahe, ofrecía por el mismo precio la jubilación de los llamados 'cantautores protesta', que poco antes habían llenado pabellones al servicio de los primeros políticos zurdos de nuestra democracia. Nada que ver con la llamada movida madrileña, que protagonizaba gente mucho más joven, adscritos al pop 'nuevaolero'.
