There is a direct correlation between what I say and what I think about in my heart and mind.

Jesus said, “out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.”

The Psalmist — King David said, “Let the WORDS of my MOUTH And the MEDITATIONS of my HEART be ACCEPTABLE in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” (Ps. 19:14)

(BIG IDEA) What you STORE UP in your heart will be SPOKEN OUT from your mouth and FLESHED OUT in your actions.

Garbage in, Garbage Out

What are you storing up? —> What are you THINKING about?

what you store up replaces what DOES NOT need to be in your heart and it reinforces what DOES…. the end result is PEACE and a COURAGEOUS HEART.

• Truth — replaces lies & reinforces TRUE
• Wisdom — replaces foolishness & reinforces UNDERSTANDING
• Honorable — replaces dishonor & reinforces respect
• Just — replaces injustice & reinforces righteousness
• Pure — replaces impurity & reinforces holiness 
• Lovely — replaces unlovely & reinforces purity
• Commendable — replaces conduct unbecoming & reinforces honesty
• Excellent — replaces mediocrity & reinforces integrity
• Praiseworthy — replaces selfishness & reinforces the value of God’s creation

Practice THESE things and the God of Peace will be with you. (Phil 4:8-10)

What requires perseverance?

“any kind of trial” — a test; an affliction; a trying; a “putting to the proof”

Why is perseverance required?

• because NOTHING grows in comfort.

What is perseverance?

• it is the characteristic of a man who is unswerved from his deliberate purpose and his loyalty to faith by even the greatest trials and sufferings

What is the outcome of perseverance?

• Growth / Maturity / NOT LACKING ANYTHING

What can you do if you’re facing a trial?

• Don’t quit!
• Endure!
• Embrace the suck and just keep moving. 
• Learn - write down your lessons
• Stay humble
