Today we cover a care plans for colonoscopy, EGD, and ERCP procedures. These might seem like "easier" days but they are great opportunities to develop critical skills of tailoring medication administrations so your patients are comfortable while maintaining their airway. 

BASICS. Today we discuss strategies for performing a general induction and emergence. If you are a seasoned SRNA or a practicing CRNA,  this episode is probably not for you! It is important that you think about the various tubes you might want to use for intubation and also discuss with the surgeon to see if they have a preference for the type of anesthetic.

Today's episode walks through the basic care plan for a parathyroidectomy. You'll be drawing PTH levels throughout the case so think ahead about where you'll have access for blood draws. Also, pay attention to your calcium levels and check with the surgeon regarding monitoring. You'll most likely use a NIM tube for this case!
