"Dear Mamas, I saw an article posted on Facebook about a young man in Birmingham that rode the bus to his high school graduation and had no family there. This young man persevered in a day and time where everyone wants something for nothing and complains all the time. What are your thoughts on Corey Patrick? How can we encourage our youth?"
Corey Patrick traveled 14 miles a day to school via public transportation, getting up as early as 4 AM to make his bus. He did this even on the day of his high school graduation, clad in his cap and gown. His story has gone viral, and for good reason. On Wednesday's "What Would Mama Do?", we took this listener submission to our American Mamas, Teri and Denise, and got their thoughts on the story, and on Corey Patrick's go-getter mindset. "What Would Mama Do?" airs every weeknight on American Ground Radio.
