She has been in Denver for about 4 years now and has really enjoyed living in Golden, primarily because she lives so close to the mountains! Her move away from her family hasn't always been a smooth ride. She shares how she built her support system when she moved here and how she continues to keep close ties with her family back in Kansas. In her words, "You just have to find a balance between the familiar and unfamiliar" (she put her room together with the same arrangement that she had in Witchita so her room felt more like home).
