What gives you pride? It always seems easier to recognize runaway or misplaced pride in someone else, but perhaps there are some gating questions that can help us catch it in ourselves, too.

The apostle Paul offers us a helpful guide in his letters to the Corinthian church: a tense collection of writings to a people struggling with all sorts of problems. At the heart of them is one issue: pride. His famous response reveals a paradoxical answer that still resonates today.
