This week, Davis and Adam expand on Davis’s sermon on Disciple

Disciple Up (Finding a Mentor):

-Don’t limit yourself to one person discipling you

-The person Discipling can be focused on one aspect

Disciple Across (Walking in life with someone):

-Building strong bonds to help grow each other in Christ

-Sometimes the most successful type of discipling because you are “in the trenches” of life together

Disciple Down (Being a mentor to someone):

-Don’t forget the ones you disciple can help you grow

-There’s an intentionality to Disciple Down

-Don’t worry about giving bad/wrong advice. The Lord will fix those situations and help you grow

-Don’t overcomplicate it

Remember that we aren’t in a race. Heaven doesn’t have limited space. Try to help everyone as you go.

-There’s many ways the topic of Reach could go

-Love is a requirement in Reach

-Davis gives tips for Reaching someone in Love

-Relationships are important for effective Reach but we don’t just build relationships for converting them.

-The big thing to show there is a difference between the person and their sin. And their sin is not tied to them.

-Adam shares a quote from Penn Jillette about Christians should be reaching out non stop if they truly believe what they say they believe.

-Don’t worry about addressing the sin you see in their life. Reach them where they are. No more “Love the sinner, hate the sin”, instead just Love the Sinner.

-Adam brings up the attacks from the enemy trying to redefine love

-Without love, we cannot reach or disciple others. And without reach or discipling, love doesn’t stand for anything.

-We talk about the need for all of our actions to be done with love to show that we are set apart.

-The guys also talk about the difference between love and affirmation.

-Adam brings up a new analogy he heard about being “In the world but not of the world.”
