The point of God's reign begins with the 7th Trumpet, a trumpet that will release God's judgments on this world without delay. God will reign over the nations, judge the small and the great, and destroy the destroyers of the earth.

John sees an enormous angel with authority over land and sea holding a little scroll of revelation that will taste sweet and yet finish bitter. It symbolizes the great end times judgment that sounds good: Reward to the righteous/Judgment to the Wicked, yet will be gruesome to behold.

God unleashes two woes against unbelievers on the earth tormenting them for five months and then killing 1/3 of mankind. Those who remain remain unrepentant and cling to their ways of murder, sorcery, fornication and theft.

Silence and awe will prevail just prior to God unleashing the greatest 3.5 years of wrath in the Great Tribulation. Chapter 8 shows the ruination to mankind's world: plant life, ocean life, freshwater, and the heavens above that give light to the earth.
