Having understood Mark's purpose for the narrative (it's not ultimately about divorce), we seek to understand Jesus and the Scripture's greater teaching on divorce and remarriage with five governing principles.

Jesus's answer to a hostile question isn't ultimately about divorce, but to show again that he is the Christ; and in Christ's kingdom, he sides with the unloved, the outcast and the voiceless.

As we begin Mark 10 and find Christ's teaching on divorce, we seek to understand the bigger reason for Mark including this narrative by returning to Genesis to see God's plan and purpose in marriage "from the beginning of creation."

Striving to be salty salt and to not hinder others in their pursuit of Christ.

Remember who the real enemy is: Satan, sin and death, not our Christian brothers and sisters.

Do we view greatness with kingdom eyes, or does our understanding and pursuit of greatness look more like what this present age values?

Because of Christ's life, death and resurrection, our creator God is also our loving Father.

Why was Christ greatly distressed as his crucifixion loomed imminent?
