But with Him, you can know that your sins are forgiven and that life has meaning, purpose, and contentment. Won't you accept God's free gift to the world and invite Christ to be your Lord and Savior? In the shortest book of the Old Testament, Obadiah pronounces three indictments against the Edomites for their mistreatment of the Israelites. Pastor Gary explains the historical background behind the animosity between these two groups and challenges each of us to not repeat the sins of the Edomites. There is also a Christmas connection in this story that Pastor Gary applies as well in wrapping up God's judgment against them.

In order to understand what is right and what is wrong, we must have an objective moral standard to define those things. Who or what is the objective moral standard in the world? It's not government, or the culture, or any of us. It is God! In the book of Amos, God is described as "the Plumb Line" against whom all things are to be measured and aligned. Only when we align ourselves with the Lord and His Word are we "vertically true", otherwise all things are crooked. Pastor Gary challenges us today from the book of Amos about making sure that we have aligned ourselves with the true standard of God so that we can influence our crooked generation for Christ.

As we close out 2019, we wanted to take some time to tell of all the wonderful works of the Lord (Psalm 105:1-2) in and through Cornerstone Chapel.
