From Ephesians 3:16-19 (and others). We are not to live our lives in our own power. God fills his people with the Holy Spirit. He leads us into the lives he wants us to live. He gives us the power for new life in Christ.

From 1 Corinthians 12. In his wisdom, God gives spiritual gifts to each of his children. But they are not merely for our own benefit. We are to use them for God's purposes and his glory.

From 1 Corinthians 2:6-3:3. On our own, we don't always know what's right and we don't automatically know God's thoughts. But through the Holy Spirit, we can understand what God has freely given us. May we learn and apply God's wisdom in the power of the Holy Spirit!

A favorite passage of many, Galatians 5:16-25 tells us the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. This fruit is not the fruit of our labor but fruit that comes from God.
