Cornerstone Church

Have you ever been talking to someone who was not paying attention to you? Ever sat next to someone who was texting someone else or scrolling social media? We all know what it’s like to be near someone but not really be with each other in the moment. In this message, Pastor Scott Savage unpacks the 6th “I Am” statement of Jesus in our series, Jesus According to Jesus. As we study John 15:1-8 together, we see how Jesus bears fruit through us as we are fully with Him.

Have you ever had one of those seasons where you felt like the child in the book Alexander's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day? Are you feeling turmoil inside you or around you? Then, you can totally relate to how the disciples of Jesus felt at the beginning of the passage we're looking at in this message. Listen as Pastor Scott Savage teaches from John 14:1-7 and helps us see how we can overcome inner turmoil in week 5 of our series, Jesus According to Jesus.

What happens when the worst thing happens? What questions does that raise about God? How do we move forward when we're filled with fear? In this powerful, emotional, and hope-filled message, Chris Inman (one of our elders at Cornerstone) teaches from John 10:11-18 about Jesus, our Good Shepherd.

When Jesus taught large groups, not everyone understood what he was saying. Jesus taught using parables and figures of speech to help those who he wanted to reach to understand the invitation he was offering them. In the third week of our series on the 7 I Am statements of Jesus in John’s Gospel, Scott Savage helps us understand what Jesus meant when he said “I am the Gate.”

Darkness. The word conjures up so many images and emotions. When the lights go down at the movies, we get excited. But, when it gets dark at night and the anxiety rolls in, there is no excitement. Many of us know the darkness better than we know the light. And it's that reality that makes Jesus' arrival GOOD NEWS! When Jesus says "I am the light of the world," he is offering the hope we desperately need.

We live in a world where people gain fame constantly for ridiculous reasons. The problem with that attention though is that it arrives quickly and it can depart very quickly too. In this message, Pastor Scott Savage kicks off our new series by talking about what happened when Jesus had the attention of the crowd. He didn’t give the crowd what we wanted - he sought to give them what they truly needed.
