  • Love Like Jesus // Part 7// The Mind of Humility
The most popular passage from the bible spoken at weddings actually has very little to do with marriage, and that is 1 Corinthians 13:4, “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast…” Of course, all these attributes of love will thrive in a marriage when they are in the hearts of husbands and wives, but the Apostle Paul taught us this passage to plant them deeply in the hearts of the redeemed. This is what a church can be! Yet he began with a warning: “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1. Cornerstone, it is time to love, urgently! It is getting spiritually darker everywhere, even in the ‘Church’. Division, lawlessness, hatred, bigotry, authoritarianism…and do not be mistaken, it is all aimed at the people of God! Now, more than ever before in our lifetimes, we must speak truth and love, both inside the walls of our church and outside! We are going to need each other for the journey ahead, so join us in our summer series as we look at the ‘one anothers’ from the bible, each of which will help us ‘Love like Jesus’.

  • The Crowned // Part 5 // The Crown Of Glory
Do you remember singing the old hymn, Crown Him with Many Crowns? To refresh your memory, the lyrics go like this: “Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne. Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own. Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee, and hail Him as thy matchless king through all eternity…” I grew up singing it in the church, and it felt like I was being transported into the courts of heaven with the voices of a great angelic choir all around. Jesus is deserving of all crowns, but did you know that the New Testament talks of 5 crowns that He will give to His faithful followers? We invite you to join us in this new series, The Crowned, as we discover the incredible honor of each of them as well as the powerful motivations they produce in God’s people to live faithfully for His glory.
