What do you do when the things you have devoted your life to leave you feeling empty? In Acts 14, Paul brings a message that cuts to the heart of that question: there is one true God, the maker of heaven and earth, and everything else we place in his seat is a vain and worthless substitute.

Good things become destructive when they become ultimate things. Career, family, achievement, reputation, none of these were designed to carry the weight of your soul. Only the living God can do that.

The good news is that instead of demanding more from you, God sent his Son to do what you could not do. Jesus took your burden, rose from the grave, and offers you rest (Matthew 11:28-30). That is not too good to be true, it's the Gospel!
