This weekend marks the end of our journey of Jesus' epic Sermon on the Mount! In it, he asks us to consider whether we're choosing the easy path or the difficult one and to build a foundation that can withstand the challenges life throws our way. Jesus is clear that there will be storms, but if we put his teachings into action, we can create a rock-solid foundation that can weather anything. He urges us not to just listen but to take action, and promises that doing so will transform our lives in amazing ways.

This weekend, we will delve into Jesus' teachings that highlight how our actions and behavior reflect our true nature. His words are full of wisdom that we can learn from. It's important to be vigilant of false prophets who may try to deceive us with their words. However, Jesus encourages us to pay attention to their actions as well, as they reveal their true nature. Our goal should be to live in accordance with God's will, not just speak about it. Let's aim to be producers of good fruit as we point others to Christ.

This weekend we're reminded that if we ask, seek, and knock, we can receive what we're searching for. As we approach God, let's do so with respect, courtesy, and positivity. Let's strive to seek His best with a can-do attitude and a heart full of gratitude.

Jesus taught us the importance of fair judgment instead of being judgmental. The Holy Spirit brings many positive characteristics, including self-control. As we go on our spiritual journeys, we are responsible for supporting each other and being positive influences for those around us. It's important to remember that people who do not follow Jesus may not understand or appreciate our beliefs. However, we can still share our convictions with kindness and respect, explaining why we believe what we do. Our goal should be to share Jesus' teachings without being the "Moral Police" for non-believers' behavior. Everything we share is based on our relationship with Jesus and cannot be imposed on those outside the Kingdom. This is freeing for us as we get to share our joy for the Kingdom and spread the seeds of the Gospel message while leaving the growth of those seeds to the Lord!

Sometimes our desire for wealth can cause us to question the authenticity of something. We may view wealth as a measure of success or security, but this belief can be more dangerous than counterfeit money. The pursuit of real wealth can lead us down risky paths and into unplanned situations. It is important to be aware of our aspirations and what we truly desire. As Matthew 6:19-34 in the Sermon on the Mount reminds us, we should be mindful of our aspirations.

In Matthew, Jesus urges us to give to those in need and to fast without seeking recognition or reward. It is a powerful reminder that our acts of kindness should come from a place of genuine love and compassion, and not from a desire to appear righteous or earn praise. By giving generously and fasting in secret, we cultivate humility and selflessness and draw closer to God. Let us all strive to follow Jesus' example and embrace these virtues with open hearts.

The prayer found in Matthew 6:5-15 is a beautiful reminder to approach God with respect and humility, seeking forgiveness for our mistakes and showing kindness to those who have wronged us. By incorporating this prayer into our daily lives, we can strengthen our relationship with God and become better versions of ourselves.
