Genesis 3:1-7

The familiar story of forbidden fruit may be a forgotten relic of children’s Sunday School for some of us. But if we dig deeper, we discover that it teaches a crucial lesson about who we are as God’s children. and how we got to where we are today.

Exodus 33:18-23

Moses beheld the glory of God while being hidden in the cleft of a rock. We behold His glory in the face of Jesus Christ!

Exodus 33:1-16

The people have so grieved God that He instructed Moses to pitch the tabernacle outside their camp. He has committed to give them the land He had promised, but He refused to dwell there with them. But Moses values God more than the land He has promised. He pleads with God to remain with them.

Moses preferred to forfeit the blessing rather than lose the presence of God, For Moses and for us, God is our reward. We are thankful for His many blessings, but the greatest blessing is to have Christ present in our lives.

Exodus 32:30-35

Doubt and impatience drives Israel to sin against God. Can the same be said of you?

Exodus 20:1-17

Imagine what the world would be like if all of humanity obeyed God’s commands. Through these instructions, we get a glimpse of God’s vision for humanity. It is a vision of peace, love, and prosperity.

Imagine what the world would be like, if we all would keep God’s first commandments.

Exodus 19:18-25

Let’s explore the volatile relationship God and the children of Israel shared. Comparing it to the life we share with God today through Jesus Christ our Lord. As we do, we will come to appreciate so much more, the privilege we have inherited in Christ Jesus.

Exodus 19:1-9

God’s vision for His people Israel was that they would be a priestly nation. The duty of the priest includes mediation, sacrifice, maintaining holiness, and to lead people in worship.

In Christ, God’s vision has been achieved. As the people born again in Jesus Christ, we have inherited this priestly responsibility. To pray for our world. To bless those who are without. To yield to being sanctified, and to be the model of worship before a watching world.

Exodus 18:5-11

“A friend loves at all times”. He offers support when you are weak, encouragement when you feel unappreciated, accountability when you’re getting off track.

A true friend does all of this out of love. Asking nothing in return. Genuinely invested in your well-being.

Everyone needs a friend like Jethro. Each of us should practice the kind of sincere love Jethro bestows upon Moses.

Exodus 17:8-16

In Jewish tradition, Amalek symbolizes doubt. And like Amalek, doubt is our most relentless adversary. One we must fight against all our days. What seems to make doubt such a formidable foe is that:

1) Doubt is arbitrary2) Doubt is frustrating3) Doubt is deeply personal

Doubt is only overcome as we resist it through the strength God gives. No amount of reason will bring it down. Doubt views partial acquiescence as a sign of weakness. It cannot be satisfied unless you completely surrender your faith.

Therefore we fight by faith against doubt. And we fight by fixing our eyes on Jesus, refusing to look away.

For The Lord is our Banner! He is our rallying point from whom we receive direction and strength to withstand our propensity to doubt.
