At the End of All Things, there is God. He is making new the old, broken things. He is gathering together a people who were separated. He is their God. They are his people. Perfected forever.

God now sends people to share its effects. Believers are engaged in a ministry of reconciliation, connecting all people to their loving God.

God’s people have shown their resistance and obstinance. They have also shown their inability to overcome life’s obstacles. God never stops acting on our behalf. Instead, Jesus comes to earn salvation and to reconnect people to God.

When reading the OT, God seems angry. He punishes and calls to account. He destroys and tears down. God acts to teach his people the contrast between his way and the way of the world. Through the law and the prophets, God is shaping his people.

God chose his people on purpose. It was unusual and surprising. He chose them because they were less, small and unwanted. As then, so still. God chooses and desires all people – from the least to the greatest.
