As the series comes to a close, Peter will, in many ways, summarize what he's been teaching the whole book. The God who has worked in the past to save us from our sins is also the God who goes before us and has promised a great inheritance. Thus, whatever hardship he allows in the present, we have the necessary resources to stand firm. So, let's Stand Firm together!

Pride can be an ugly thing, can't it? And yet, it can be pervasive not only out in the world but also in the church. Peter offers several "Lessons in Humility" for both leaders and followers. And what we'll discover is that when the people of God embrace humility towards one another and under God, amazing things begin to happen.

1 Peter 5:5-7

Peter moves his attention to the leaders of the church in exile. And as he gives them instructions on how to help the church stand firm, we'll discover some incredibly important principles to apply not only in the leadership of Cornerstone, but in every place where God gives us influence.

We come to one of the most challenging texts in the entire New Testament, where Peter describes Jesus proclaiming to spirits who are in prison and then references Noah and baptisms in a way that, at first, seems pretty obscure. But as we break the passage down, we'll find that what Peter teaches adds perfectly to his challenge for the church in exile to stand firm in their faith, even while suffering.
