Cornerstone Truth

We continue in our great mini series based on the first chapter of the book of Ephesians, “What is the Hope of His Calling?”    Today’s third  sermon in a series of five will be focused on the hope that the Riches of Christ’s Glory secures for us. We will begin by reviewing what the inheritance in the saints is.  Then we will examine once again both the glory of God and the riches of His glory which is in us through the indwelling presence of Christ’s Spirit.   In the second point we will examine the “Hope of Glory” for both our present life and then in the future at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“What is the Hope of His Calling?”  This is a great mini series based on the first chapter of the book of Ephesians!  Today’s second sermon in this series will be focused on the Inheritance we have in Christ Jesus. We will begin by learning what it means to be “sealed in Him.”  This part describes the security and protection we are given when we become Christians.  The second truths we will learn is base the pledge and the promise He has given to us when are immersed into Christ.  Finally, we will define what our inheritance is, what it is that we have already obtained, and what we will receive when He returns to take us all home.

“What is the Hope of His Calling?”  This is a great sermon title right out of the book of Ephesians!  In this sermon we will be answering two very important questions!  What are we called out of? and What is the hope of our calling?  The second question of course will be the focus of our lesson.  We will answer this question by looking at what Christians are called into through their union with Christ.

Today we will bring the third sermon in our series “In the Hope of Eternal Life!” I our lesson we will examine the truth statement that the LORD manifested His plan for eternal life at the proper time.  God’s timing is always perfect.  Though many question Him about waiting so long before sending His son into the world to bring salvation, He did so at the proper time.  Just as it takes time to develop a baby in its mother’s womb, or to develop a plan the construction of a home, so too the LORD’s perfect plan included time to prepare mankind for a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ.  This morning we will learn more about this great eternal plan to save all mankind.

There is hope of eternal life for those who are in Christ Jesus!  In the first of several sermons titled “In the Hope of Eternal Life,” we will examine the prerequisites of securing eternal life.  In Matthew 22:14, Jesus said, “For many are called, but few are chosen” regarding eternal life.  Today we will begin to learn and understand how to make sure of His calling and choosing you!  We must be sure of when the LORD calls and when He chooses a person for eternal life.  We will also discover what our part is in responding to His call and desiring to choose us for eternal life.  It is important for us to learn that Christianity is not a religion filled with rituals and regulations but rather a relationship in which each individual in the relationship is an active participant.  We will learn of our part in being a person who is faithful, knowledgeable, and active in living out our faith based on knowledge in godliness.
