Prisoners Of War is a thrash metal band with strong influences from the 80s and 90s. The current lineup consists of Reef Denton (rhythm guitarist/vocals), River Lloyd (lead guitarist/backing vocals), Zach Greenfield (drummer/backing vocals), and Vienna Blofield (bassist).

Sigh … I have spent too long trying to start this article. Overthinking how to tap the subject lightly on the shoulder and start the conversation in my mind. Being in my 30s and in a traditional relationship, I am seeing so many different scenarios play out with my girlfriends. Observing so many life paths and supporting friends through various types of relationships has exercised my compassion and expanded my heart for those who had hoped for something that wasn’t to be.

I guess sailing became part of my future genetic makeup back in 1865 when my great-great grandfather William Foote abandoned his timber milling business in Newfoundland Canada because adverse weather over several years had affected tree growth. Together with another family, the Peaces, he bought the 132-ton brigantine (sailing vessel) called Clara, loaded her with a steam engine and all their timber milling machinery and set off for a new life in New Zealand. Yet the Hauraki and Coromandel’s wetlands are magical places. Wetlands are ecosystems including rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, swamps, bogs, estuaries, natural springs and more.

Thames Arts, Treasures and Textiles (TATAT) is a group of local artists who have come together to exhibit and sell their unique creations.

Starting on 19 October, the exhibition will be open for sales every Saturday morning, 9 am - 1 pm, in the Grahamstown Hall, in conjunction with the Saturday Thames Market. On display will be collections of pottery, jewelry, textiles and fine arts, as well as beautiful and rare forgotten treasures from ages past.

I paint because it brings me happiness, fulfilment and allows me to share the messages I have for the world in the most authentic way possible. Also, because I don’t know how not to. When I haven’t painted for a while I feel like there’s a big storm cloud brewing behind me full of ideas, adding up and threatening to push me over.
