Daniel has been a bassist in the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra since 2014. Very much an orchestral player, he studied at Indiana University and has performed with the Trondheim Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Verbier Festival, and the New York String Seminar. In addition to performing, he is an avid adventure cyclist, volunteer, and teaches with the local El Sistema program. Every summer Daniel makes a trip out west to play in the Oregon Coast Music Festival,  visiting friends, family, and parks along the way.

Caitlin Marie Bell is a New York City-based singer and songwriter. She grew up in Georgia immersed in folk, country and Americana music, and earned her bachelor’s degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. In 2017, Caitlin released her debut EP, which gained over half a million streams and was featured on several Spotify curated playlists. Caitlin’s music has also been featured in publications such as Paste, Noisey, The Wild Honey Pie, and MAGNET. As well as touring nationally with her project, Bell The Band, Caitlin joined indie-pop band Handsome Ghost for several US tours, playing to sold-out audiences at venues including the Ryman Auditorium, Hammerstein Ballroom, and the Shrine Auditorium. Caitlin is a songwriter and lyricist for the new musical production Sam’s Room, which was featured in the National Alliance for Musical Theatre’s Festival of New Musicals and is currently being produced by Seaview and OHenry Productions. This fall, Caitlin will enroll in the graduate music therapy program at NYU. We take a deep dive into the transition from Classical Opera to making her own music, life on the road, collaborating with others, navigating the NYC music scene, her new project, writing music for the Musical Sam's Room, and her upcoming transition to graduate school to pursue Music Therapy.

Happy New Year! We welcome 2019 by spending time with our guest, violinist Karin Harrell, talking about endurance events, violin playing, what she did and didn't learn in music conservatory, and the new adventure of going back to school to study Occupational Therapy. Karin performs all over the country with different orchestras and ensembles but currently calls Dallas her home. We caught up with her between the dress rehearsal and concert and discussed how she keeps in touch with the people she cares about (all over the country), what she eats before performances and athletic events and how she carries knowledge from one aspect of life into another. We caught up with her between rehearsals in Tulsa about the impact martial arts has on her bass playing, and how she uses it in her everyday musical life from controlling her mindset to warming up her body physically. We also talk about bassists she admires, and how she deals with all of the driving.
