1) Having ushers being defenders of the Eucharist

2) Having singers at 8am Saturday Mass and 9am Statutory Holiday Masses.

3) Inviting a friend to Mass

That is where I noticed our 10 Year Vision beings lived out: Guarding the Eucharist; Signing at extra Masses and inviting a friend to Mass. If you notice the 10 Year Vision being lived out let me know. 

This Vision help you to deepen your love for Jesus Christ as you see faith deepen in the lives of others and this bring about more hope in your life 

1) This week I want to expand upon our 10 Year Vision and what ‘ that preferred picture’ looks like.  

We see a faith community that is passionately committed to the Living Tradition of the Catholic Church. •

We see full Mass attendance (700 people) at each of the 5 Masses on Sunday, with the 5th Mass being added in 2026. 

We see beautiful and solemn liturgies with parishioners actively singing with one voice. 

We see hundreds of people praying before and after Mass.  • We see a newly-designed adoration chapel that is occupied 24/7 with a waiting list of people hoping to find a spot during the day. 

We see dozens of children playing on the property every Sunday as evidence of hundreds of families attending each Mass. 

2) Alexander G. Leonardo

A Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator (FMC) has been hired to assist with the upkeep of the school’s and parish’s buildings. 

The primary role of the FMC is to ensure that routine maintenance and upkeep of the school’s and parish’s facilities are undertaken and done so on a regular and scheduled basis each year.

1) Parishioners gave a warm welcome to Fr. Raffaele. They took time to say hi to him and welcome him into the Parish.

2)The families with young kids still took time playing after Mass even though there's not a lot of food serve fir AMS 

..they get ice cream and Popsicles

3) The 3rd thing is the WYD Pilgrims  

Were present to thank parishioners for their support during all of the fundraising time

And to ask for prayers intentions to pray for when they are in Lisbon. The received 600 intentions!

The Week of Our Lady and the Youth! 

1. VBS - vacation bible school ...there were a lot of volunteers throughout this event for 5 days

1) 56 children entering K to Grade 5

2) Volunteers to help:  45 youths entering into Grade 6 to grade 12

3) 20 + adults 

On Friday (Day 5) families of participants were invited to come for a vegetarian lunch, there were approximately 170 people showed up.  Everyone had a great time!

If you want more then you need to step up and become a leader for this great effort!

MULTIPLYING LEADERS! is more than being a volunteer!

2. Imposition of brown scapular in celebration of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel - there was an estimate of 150 to 160 people attended the Mass.

3. BELOVED CCYM retreat - 91 attendees, tons of food brought by the parents. The parents had to be asked to lower the amount they did not want to waste so much left over food. Parents are helping as well to prep, serve and clean up so the youth leaders can focus on retreat.

Evangelical Hospitality - parents helping out, making more food that teens could actually eat. NOW THAT IS AMAZING 

Our new  Office Administrator - Winnie - is working Sunday through Thursday. You might wonder why? Well - this is in line with our 10 Year Vision.

What do I mean by this? it is an obvious point that people come to Mass on Sunday so it is the largest gathering of parishioners. It is THE opportunity to meet people, connect with them, meet those who are coming to CC for the 1st time, those who would probably not be able to come by during the week. 

It is also an opportunity to get a good handle on the week ahead - with various meetings and appointments. Monday is the day off for the clergy so Tuesday has always been something of a tsunami day and feeling like you’re behind the 8ball. 

The Sunday through Thursday schedule can prevent that from happening. 

2)  Every ministry should be thinking “how can we be living and implementing the 10 Year vision? These questions will be asked of you because - not to put you on the spot but because - you are important to the life of the parish 

This week:

1) Senior and Junior Youth on on a Saturday night were working away for the upcoming Youth Minsitry Retreat. 

At present there are about 50 youth singed up. This is amazing but it can and should go higher if that “one young person" stands up and out and says “I’m going” and then their friends will follow. Be that 1 who stands up and out and bring your friends. 

You will be with like minded peers, your friends and you’ll meet new ones; you will have good food to eat, you will hear great sharing, testimonies and you’ll learn about Jesus and what he can do in your live if you let him. 

2) Altar Servers - we have a whole bunch of Grade 2’s desiring to serve at the altar. This is wonderful! And a couple of weeks ago a Grade 12 student (I’ll leave you unnamed) started serving because his friend encouraged him! The power of friendship and being an engaged disciple! 

The Altar Server Camp that will take place in August - there are about 50 boys signed up at this time. This is the largest number of young people we’ve ever had! 

3) Remember the Senior Youth are getting ready to head to Portugal for the World Youth Day - 24 from our parish. This is a life-changing opportunity for these young people. Pray for them!

This past week was the final Faith Studies (CCO) before the summer break. This is the group of people going through Discovery and Source. There an are a great bunch of people guiding and facilitating the studies and others searching for the truth that is found in Jesus Christ. 

Thank you Neila for Coordinating our Faith Studies at Corpus Christi. Let us pray that if it the Lord’s will some may enter into RCIA (Sacramental Initiation).

2.

This   past weekend 24  Young Adults were on retreat to prepare for the World Youth Day in Portugal this summer. 

They will be receiving a lot of teaching and witnessing from each other. This is a prime example of being formed to be ENGAGED DISCIPLES and also MULTIPLYING LEADERS 

Pray for them! Formation never ends - we need ongoing communion with Jesus and each other and that is one of the many reasons why Youth Ministry is so important. Ongoing communion with Jesus and our Catholic Faith and ongoing connection and support from and with each other! 

3.

Our Grade 7’s (along with families present) had their Farewell Mass yesterday evening and then a sit-down dinner in the school gym. 

Pray these young people remain united to Jesus Christ and the Church as well as becoming a part of our Youth Ministry.

If we do not connect them and keep them connected they are likely to fall away from the faith. We can do our best - with God’s help and grace - to do something to bring about a different outcome: that - in this case - is Youth Ministry!

2)The Youth gathering that occurred on Saturday night shows great hope the young people of our parish & the Leadership that is committed to giving our young people an opportunity to grow in the faith. Between 30-40 young people were present. This involved:

Yes - when Jesus Christ is present there is Hope because he is Hope!

3) Young Adults going to World Youth Day - 20 youth. There was a 150 Young Adults all revved 

4) Father’s day after Mass social. Dad’s got popcorn and a holy card. No flowers for the guys - sorry, not in my church! :)

1) Saturday evening Annie and her team showed appreciation to the Greeters of the parish. A good time was had by everyone and the children loved it even more ... running around and playing with each other.

2) The Corpus Christi Procession was a great example of many parishioners coming together and showing all Core Values: Rooted in Tradition, Evangelical Hospitality, Engaged Disciples, Multiplying Leaders. Next year? The Procession AND a sit down social to cap the day off

3) I was out last night with Veronica and Joseph and the staff who teach Cantonese to children after school. Their parents do pay a fee and all the proceeds go towards our Capital Campaign. The children are learning their cultural language and in a fun way - through stories, songs and poems. Grandparents and parents are happy! :)
