As a soldier in God's army, can you accept life’s hardships as God’s dealings and correction because He accepts you? God's correction will naturally produce discouragement if your life and sense of purpose is tied up in your sense of self-protection. Hebrews’ famous “faith” chapter comes immediately before the “admonition” chapter about not despising the discipline of the Lord. Could it be that this kind of “discipline” is the flame by which we’re refined and sanctified to become partakers of God’s holiness, even heroes of faith?
