Corsley Edwards's journey proves that your path doesn't have to look like everyone else's.
Drafted 58th overall — the last pick in the 2002 NBA Draft — Corsley played just 10 games for the New Orleans Hornets before his NBA journey took a different turn. But instead of walking away, he built a career that lasted over a decade.
Corsley won a CBA Championship with the Sioux Falls Skyforce and was named Finals MVP. He was the first overall pick in the 2006 D-League Draft. He played professionally across eight countries — Turkey, Italy, Spain, China, Croatia, Poland, Bosnia, and Lebanon — winning championships and proving that "making it" means something different than what culture sold us.
After over a decade of professional basketball, Corsley transitioned into coaching, serving as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets and the Greensboro Swarm in the NBA G-League.
In this episode of The Standard Podcast™, we dive into:
Corsley's story is a masterclass in perseverance, redefining success, and building a legacy that goes far beyond 10 NBA games.
This is raw. This is real. This is the truth athletes need to hear.
