Cosmic Crimes

Richard "The Torso Killer" Cottingham lived a seemingly conventional life in New Jersey, working as a computer operator, marrying, and raising children. Behind that public identity, investigators linked him to a series of murders spanning New York and New Jersey from the late 1960s through 1980. He was convicted of multiple murders and remains imprisoned on multiple life sentences; in later years, he made additional confessions that helped close long-unsolved cases.wikipedia+1

Astrologically, Cottingham's Gemini rising suggests an outwardly adaptable, communicative presentation and a capacity to move through different social settings. His retrograde Mercury and retrograde Venus in Scorpio in the sixth house place thought patterns, attachments, secrecy, control, and daily behavior in a private, inwardly processed part of the chart. In this context, the Scorpio emphasis points to compulsive emotional undercurrents and concealed relational dynamics, with the sixth house drawing attention to routine, compartmentalization, and the hidden patterns embedded in ordinary life.

In our very first true-crime-only episode we cover Elaine Parent, one of the most wanted fugitives in the United States after she was suspected of killing Beverly McGowan in 1990 and assuming her identity. Known as "The Chameleon," Parent allegedly moved through several states using false names, stolen identities, and convincing disguises as investigators worked to trace her movements. Her case ended in 2002, when police confronted Parent at a Tennessee motel and she died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Pamela Smart became the center of one of America's first nationally televised murder trials after she was convicted in 1991 of being an accomplice to first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and witness tampering in the 1990 killing of her husband, Gregg Smart. Prosecutors said Smart had an affair with her teenage lover, Billy Flynn, and persuaded him to carry out the murder. She is serving life without parole and is currently seeking to overturn her conviction.

Astrologically, her Cancer rising can project softness, emotional sensitivity, and a guarded private world, while a Capricorn Moon reflects control, restraint, and a need to manage vulnerability. Her Leo Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter add charisma, confidence, and a powerful need to be seen, believed, and heard, creating an image-conscious combination where attention can feel like validation and influence can feel essential.

David "D4VD" Burke rose from online music success into a fast-growing career defined by intimate songwriting and a rapidly expanding fanbase. But in 2026, prosecutors charged Burke in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were discovered in an impounded Tesla registered to him in September 2025. He faces charges including first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. *:first-child]:mt-0 [&_>*:last-child]:mb-0" data-renderer="lm">

Astrologically, his Aries stellium, Sun at 8°, Venus at 7°, and retrograde Mercury at 9°, points to intensity, urgency, and a direct, self-driven style. With Pluto activating his Mars-Chiron placement and transiting Mars opposing that point during the period prosecutors allege Celeste was killed, the chart reflects themes of pressure, power, conflict, and consequences.

Sean "Diddy" Combs built a music and business empire around charisma, ambition, and control, then faced a public reckoning as criminal charges and civil allegations brought intense scrutiny to the systems around him. In 2025, a federal jury acquitted Combs of racketeering and sex-trafficking counts but convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution; he was later sentenced to 50 months in prison. Civil allegations remain allegations unless proven in court.

Astrologically, his Scorpio Sun points to intensity, privacy, and a drive to maintain power behind the scenes, while a Virgo Moon can speak to image management, precision, and a need to control the details. Saturn in Taurus emphasizes the weight of material success, reputation, and what happens when a carefully built empire becomes a source of pressure. Mars at 29° Capricorn adds a critical-degree edge to ambition and authority: the urge to win, direct outcomes, and climb can become consuming when accountability finally arrives.

Before she became the Blood Countess, Elizabeth Bathory was born into power, privilege, and a legacy that made her impossible to ignore. Her story has lived for centuries between myth and monster, with some seeing one of history's most feared women and others seeing a wealthy widow caught in a brutal struggle over land, status, and control.

Her chart is just as intense. A Leo stellium gives her the royal, magnetic, larger‑than‑life presence that fits a woman born to command attention, while the square to Uranus in Scorpio adds volatility, rebellion, and the kind of energy that can either break free of limits or tear through them. In this episode, we explore the line between legend and truth, and how much of the Blood Countess story may have been power, fear, and history turning a woman into a monster.

On the night of May 11, 2022, Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson was staying with friends in Austin and preparing for a major gravel race when she was shot and killed, leaving her family and community stunned by the violence of it. What began as a promising trip for competition turned into a murder case fueled by jealousy, with Kaitlin Armstrong eventually emerging as the woman accused of tracking Mo down over a relationship she couldn't tolerate.

Mo and Kaitlin sit on opposite ends of the same Sun axis, which makes this case feel like a tug of war between holding on and letting go, between stability and transformation. Kaitlin's Pluto-Mars contact adds intensity, control, and explosive action, and once it was activated that night it seemed to keep echoing through the case, as if the chart was tracing not just one moment but the full arc of obsession, pursuit, and fallout.

Late on Halloween night in 2001, sports editor Kent Heitholt left the Columbia Daily Tribune and walked into the parking lot behind the newspaper, minutes later, he was beaten, strangled, and left beside his car, with a brutal scene and plenty of forensic evidence that somehow didn't lead to the right person. Two years later, the focus shifted to teens Ryan Ferguson and Charles Erickson, even though there were fingerprints, shoe prints, DNA, a hair in Kent's hand, and witnesses placing two young men near his car, but no physical evidence tying Ryan or Charles directly to the crime, only a confession Charles gave after a dream he believed was about the murder.

One transit that stands out is the Full Moon the night Kent was killed, a phase usually linked to culmination and clarity, yet in this case it seems to have lit up the wrong story first and pushed a false narrative into the spotlight. Ryan has a Mercury–Pluto conjunction in Scorpio that kept getting activated at every major turning point in the case, pulling the symbolism away from the act of violence and toward testimony, interviews, memory, and the obsessive power of a story. Mercury rules what we say, remember, and repeat, while Pluto digs deep into whatever version of reality it's trying to understand, and looking back it feels like Ryan's biggest lesson wasn't about the crime itself, but about how someone else's version of events, once believed, can completely reroute the course of your life.

Sante Kimes built a life on charm, manipulation, and crime, moving from insurance and fraud schemes into a string of cons, thefts, and eventually high‑profile cases that turned her into a tabloid villain. Across decades, she pulled family members into her scams, reinvented herself to fit whatever role she needed, and left behind a trail of victims, legal battles, and a public record that raises hard questions about greed, control, and how far someone will go to keep power.

Her chart mirrors that mix of theatrics and cold calculation. A Leo Sun points to someone who craves attention and center‑stage status, using charisma and performance to get what she wants. A Capricorn Moon adds ruthless practicality and emotional hardness, focused on survival, strategy, and material security over sentiment. Cancer Mercury shows a mind that reads people through emotion and family dynamics, able to play the nurturing role while using information in protective or manipulative ways. With a North Node in Aquarius, she carries a life path lesson around stepping out of self‑centered control and learning a more detached, humane perspective, one she seemed to push against by clinging to her own rules instead.

Taylor Parker carefully built the image of a devoted partner and expectant mother while hiding a web of lies that stretched across her relationships and daily life. She fabricated a pregnancy, manipulated those closest to her, and crossed a line into devastating violence to steal the future she wanted instead of facing the reality she had created, leaving a trail of grief, outrage, and hard questions about how far someone will go to protect their own fantasy.

Her Sagittarius Sun was conjunct her North Node, pointing to a storyteller who is pushed into unfamiliar territory around truth, ethics, and morality. Mercury in Scorpio conjunct Pluto describes a mind drawn to secrets, control, and intense fixations, using information and lies as tools of power. With Venus either at the final degree of Capricorn or the first degree of Aquarius, her approach to love and security sat on a fault line between conventional "perfect life" ambition and detatched idealistic relationships. Born just before a lunar eclipse in Gemini, she carries an eclipse signature that amplifies themes of duality, false identities, and fated turning points around the stories she tells and the roles she tries to inhabit. Her chart matched with her choices carries along a lifelong question of "what happens when the story we tell ourselves becomes more real than reality itself?".
