Ghosts of American Astronauts is a beautiful song by the Mekons. I don't think the song is asserting that the Moon landing was faked. It's more that the mythology surrounding it is false, so the song presents an alternative version with Nixon watching on, sucking a dry Martini, content that the war in Vietnam can rage on while this heavenly spectacle unfolds so sweetly for him.

I recorded this version of it in one take while setting up the Fillmore South recording studio, aka my spare bedroom. I would love to create a better rendition of it, but it might never happen so here is the rough and ready one.

This song was written around 1988 and recorded on a Tascam 244 cassette four track. It speculates about a Soviet Union Mars mission in 1999.

"Fifty-Six" is an electronic music composition created with the Korg DSN-12 software on Nintendo 3DS, performed by My Lord Femtiosex.

I set out to achieve several things: explore the technology at hand; use elements of noise inspired by the "Cetology" album by Marreck; use the 11/8 time signature; and use the pseudonym "My Lord Femtiosex". This last idea comes from the character in the science fiction of Cordwainer Smith. Because "femtiosex" is the Swedish word for fifty-six, is seemed a perfect name for music with 11 beats in the bar.
