This week Rev. Mandy reflects on Luke's sermon on the plain (Luke 6:17-26). Jesus has some shocking things to say about what it means to be blessed in the kingdom of God. He takes the personal aspirations of many people - to be financially comfortable, food to eat and to have happiness and say Woe to you. Jesus is not calling us to be a bunch of miserable people but to look beyond our selves and to be aware of the pain of others and to respond to it with compassion and love.
