In late August of 2024, Conrad Franz (of the World War Now podcast) and I were part of a small group of Orthodox Christian pilgrims who traveled to Mount Athos with Father Peter Heers. The second annual Philip Ludwell III Southern Orthodoxy Conference was held in my town of Lockhart, TX, from September 6th-8th, 2024. My guest this week is Dr. Jeannie Constantinou, back with us once again to discuss her works on Andrew of Caesarea's commentary on the Book of Revelation. Andrew is a Church Father, and his commentary on Revelation is the go-to work on the Apocalypse for the Orthodox Church. Since the late 1800's, there have been a lot of misconceptions and misrepresentations regarding the Book of Revelation. There have been movies and books like "The Late Great Planet Earth" and the "Left Behind" series that falsely tell of a pre-tribulation rapture. And now in pop culture, many use out-of-context quotes from the book and fit their own predictions and ideas into them. Jeannie explains how Andrew of Caesarea studied the Book of Revelation, his interpretations of it, how he arrived at various explanations, and more.
