Emmanuel draws on Joshua's final words to Israel and encourages us to "be very careful to love the Lord your God" (Joshua 23:11), to dwell in the good land the Lord has promised us, but also not to stop there... to press onward into more of God's calling; encouraging us to love one another and to read and obey scripture.

This week Matt shared with us from Joshua 6, the story of how God led the Israelites to bring down the walls of Jericho. This story spoke to us of how God wants to bring down the walls around our hearts, and restore life, hope, joy and peace to the hard, hurting and hidden areas of our lives.

This week Lindsay Caplin, one of our regional ministers from the West of England Baptist Network, came to share with us. She spoke on the life and hope that God offers his people in the Bible and how we today can choose to live in that.

Last week Andy challenged us to look back, take stock and move forward. This week Matt built on that message by asking how do we move forward and using Deuteronomy 11 to help us find that answer.

Today we looked at what we can learn from the book of Numbers about living as the people of God in a wilderness culture.

Today we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus, and discovered why this is the most important day in the Christian calendar, and in the history of the church.

This week Emmanuel wrapped up our time in the book of Leviticus by showing the parallels between Leviticus and books of the New Testament, like Hebrews, revealing that it all points to Jesus as our great high priest - the one who makes everything possible.

This week we explored the theme of Holiness and God's call for us to be holy... Only we discovered that holiness isn't a test or a hardship, instead it is something that out of love God Himself makes us by His very presence. This is the heart and the good news of Leviticus and the entire bible.
